At Kelly Lab App, we respect your privacy and data sovereignty. Notavox is engineered as a local, privacy-first Android application. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle data and diagnostic information for Notavox.

1. Information Collection & Privacy Commitments

Notavox is designed with strict privacy boundaries:

  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contact lists, or location data.
  • No Audio or Text Uploads: Your voice recordings and transcribed text are stored strictly in your device's private local storage. They are never uploaded or transmitted to any cloud server or third party.
  • Crash Reporting & Diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics): To help us identify bugs, improve application stability, and resolve crashes, Notavox incorporates Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google LLC). When an unexpected crash occurs, non-personally-identifiable technical diagnostic data (such as stack traces, device model, OS version, and app state at the time of crash) is automatically collected. Firebase Crashlytics never collects, accesses, or transmits your audio recordings, transcripts, notes, or personal identifying information.
  • No Advertisements or Behavioral Tracking: Notavox contains zero third-party ad networks, advertising identifiers, or user behavior tracking scripts.

2. On-Device Speech Recognition

All speech-to-text processing in Notavox occurs completely locally on your smartphone using embedded AI speech recognition engines.

Because speech recognition runs 100% offline on your device hardware, no internet connection or cloud API key is required or used during transcription.

3. Device Permissions

Notavox requests minimal permissions strictly necessary for local functionality:

  • Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively to capture audio locally when you initiate a recording.
  • Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE): Used to maintain audio recording and local ASR processing while the app is in the background or screen off.
  • Storage / Media Access: Used exclusively to allow you to import external audio files (e.g., MP3, WAV, M4A) for local transcription or export notes.
  • Internet (INTERNET): Used solely for downloading AI model files (if initiated) and transmitting anonymous crash report data to Firebase Crashlytics. No personal data or audio content is ever transmitted.

4. Data Storage & User Control

All data created in Notavox stays on your device. You have full control over your notes and audio files.

Deleting a note or audio recording within Notavox permanently deletes it from your device. Clearing app storage or uninstalling Notavox completely removes all local notes, audio files, and model data.

5. Third-Party Services

Notavox uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash logging and stability monitoring. You can review how Google processes diagnostic information in the Firebase Privacy and Security Documentation.

6. Children's Privacy

Notavox does not collect personal information from any user, including children under 13, making it safe for users of all ages.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our software or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
