Stellar Radio is an internet radio player that allows users to discover, stream, and manage radio stations. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not collect precise GPS location.

Favorites

The app may allow you to save favorite stations to improve your listening experience. Favorites are stored locally on your device.

Advertising-related information

If ads are shown in the app, advertising services may process information such as:

  • Ad interactions
  • Device and app information
  • Approximate region inferred from network information, where applicable
  • Usage information used to deliver, measure, and improve ads

Purchase and subscription information

If you subscribe or make an in-app purchase, purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not collect or store your full payment card number, bank account information, or complete payment details.

We may receive limited purchase-related information from Google Play, such as product identifiers, purchase tokens, order status, and subscription status, so that we can verify your purchase and provide premium features.

2. Radio Streaming and Third-Party Content

Stellar Radio streams internet radio content from third-party radio stations and online streaming sources.

When you play a station, your device may connect directly or indirectly to third-party streaming servers. These third-party servers may receive technical information such as your IP address, user agent, device or app information, playback request details, and connection metadata. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy practices.

3. Radio Browser API

The app may use the Radio Browser API to help users discover stations and retrieve station information, such as station names, stream URLs, tags, countries, languages, and popularity metadata.

When the app communicates with the Radio Browser API, technical request information may be processed by that service, including IP address, request time, app or device information, and query parameters required to return station results.

We use Radio Browser API data to provide search, browsing, and playback features. We do not control the privacy practices of the Radio Browser service.

4. Foreground Service and Background Playback

Stellar Radio may use a foreground service for media playback so that audio can continue playing while the app is in the background or while the screen is off.

When background playback is active, the app may show a persistent media notification with playback controls. The foreground service is used only to provide media playback functionality and related controls.

Android requires apps that use foreground services for media playback to declare the appropriate foreground service type and permissions. We use this functionality to provide a continuous listening experience. Android documentation identifies media playback as a supported foreground service type for continuing audio or video playback in the background.

5. Analytics and Diagnostics

We may use analytics and diagnostic services to understand app usage, improve performance, identify bugs, and develop better features.

These services may process usage information, device information, app instance identifiers, crash logs, performance data, and diagnostic information according to their own privacy policies.

Services we may use include:

  • Firebase
  • Google Analytics for Firebase
  • Firebase Crashlytics, if crash reporting is enabled

6. Advertising

The app may display advertisements through third-party advertising services, such as Google AdMob.

Advertising partners may collect or process advertising identifiers, usage data, device information, approximate region inferred from network information, ad interaction data, and other information needed to provide, measure, limit, and improve ads.

Depending on your region and device settings, you may be able to control personalized advertising through the consent options shown in the app, your device settings, or Google advertising settings.

If you subscribe to a premium plan, ads may be removed or reduced according to the benefits described in the app.

7. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The app may offer subscriptions or in-app purchases through Google Play Billing.

Google Play processes payments and manages subscription billing. We do not receive your full payment card details.

We may use purchase-related information to:

  • Provide premium features

10. Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion

  • Data Storage: Personal information is stored in secure servers located in the US. For services that require international data transfer, we ensure that such transfers comply with all applicable laws and maintain data protection standards.
  • Data Hosting Partners: We partner with reputable data hosting providers committed to using state-of-the-art security measures. These partners are selected based on their adherence to stringent data protection standards.
  • Retention: Favorites and preferences may be stored locally on your device. Analytics, advertising, diagnostic, streaming, and purchase-related information may be retained by third-party service providers according to their own retention policies. We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
  • Deletion: You can delete locally stored app data by clearing the app data in your device settings or uninstalling the app. You may contact us to request assistance with privacy-related questions.

11. Children’s Privacy

Stellar Radio is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and similar regulations in other jurisdictions.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our records. If you believe that we may have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without parental consent, please contact us immediately.

Parents or legal guardians of children under the age of 13 have the right to review, update, or delete any personal information collected from their child. To exercise these rights or to request the deletion of a child’s information, please contact us.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information related to the app. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your information.

You may also be able to manage advertising preferences through your device settings, Google settings, or consent options shown in the app.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account.
